Homily - Sunday 25th January 2026
Well, here we are at the end of January already, l hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
Of course you would have made New Year Resolutions, or not. I personally didn’t as I would probably have broken them after the first week. So, I got to thinking what will this New Year bring.
Looking at the world stage one does wonder where we are headed. We as a community cannot heal the world but what we can do is heal ourselves first. That means really looking at yourself.
What do you need to change in you. None of us are perfect but, do we really want to start a New Year while still holding on tightly to things from the past. How can we truly move forward whilst hanging on to the emotions of last year or years before, like that little suitcase you keep dragging behind with all your hurts and disappointments.
To move forward with honesty and integrity one has to admit what part did you play in the story of your life. What did you sign up for before you came back to the earth plane? Hard as it may seem, you did sign up for this life; this life is all about learning from the challenges that life has thrown at you.
Believe it or not we are only here to learn how to get on together, to live with faith, love, hope compassion in our hearts. Unfortunately, it’s the choices we make that make life hard.
However, we can change. Change your thinking and a whole new world will open for you. It’s ok to let go of all the hurt that has held you captive for so long, for when it no longer serves you, let it go. If you are finding that difficult ask Spirit to help but be awake to the answers, they can come from unexpected places.
I ask myself why is it that people forget to ask Spirit or, is it that they think they are not worthy. Spirit knows every one of you is worthy regardless of what good or bad deeds you have done in this life. Spirit knows what is in your soul and is only waiting for you to awaken to your true self; perhaps then and only then will we be able to free the world of all wrong doings and come to live in a world of peace and love for all.
It is up to you to make the call; Spirit is waiting patiently for you to connect.
